Rob. A! (born Robert Lamont Allen) is an American Singer-songwriter and Producer popular for layering soulful vocals on top of rhythmic Pop tracks, a unique vocal background and arrangement comprised through his special engineering style. He is also popular for his freestyle songwriting approach that gave him the nickname “The Jay-Z of R&B”. Rob A was discovered in New Jersey at age 16 by Roy Hamilton III while Rob A was working at a ice cream shop. Roy mentored Rob A for years, moved him to Los Angeles and introduced him to the music industry. He got his break as a songwriter in early 2008 when he collaborated with Andre Merritt, Chris Brown and Brian Kennedy. The collaboration climbed him to a multi-platinum songwriter status with two #1 records back to back in June 2009.[1] Disturbia for Rihanna and Forever for Chris Brown. By the end of the summer of 2009, he was signed a co-publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing courtesy of the VP/Urban A&R Juan Madrid.
